Donavan McNeil, a 24 year old poet and aspiring rap artist from Brooklyn who hopes to do more than just spit but ultimately, be the Most Inspiring Artist Alive. He's been writing since the age of 9 but decided to go further with his work at the age of 21 and pursue music after experiencing failure back to back in slam competitions in his late teens. Identifying himself as a man born and raised on the outside looking in, writing is what compensates for lack of social interaction. It also has been his way of dealing with pain, frustration and unhappiness, as those things make up at least 90 percent of his art. Overtime, it has been helping him learn to embody the phrase "beauty in the struggle", always trying to write something better than his last piece so that he inspires and heals any reader, or inspire and heal any listener he performs before. He calls himself Macadon Blackheart.
Joe Roarty "was born in '53 in cincinnatti-pgh,cleveland,boston,cgo,filly-hav 2 chapbooks, some other stuff."
Sergio Satélite is the proud owner of a black cat. Originally from Santo Domingo, he moved to NY/NJ in his mid teens to become a Calvinist preacher, a mime, an undocumented factory worker, a Spanish interpreter. For some years he was seen studying analytic philosophy at Hunter College. Rumor has it he has now turned to the consolations of poetry. His poetry is said to be mostly an exercise in exorcising personal traumas through absurdist humor. Sergio has been featured at La Casita (Lincoln Center Out of Doors), GAMBA Forest, Arlo Hotel, The Inspired Word (Brooklyn), Local Knowledge Reading Series and Second Saturdays @Cyrus (Long Island). Some of his work is forthcoming in LiVE MAG!, Local Knowledge, and BreadcrumbsMag.
