K. Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, Brian VanRemmen has been writing poetry for over 20 years. While balancing a full-time involvement in rugby with life as a cubicle jockey, he co-founded Hip Pocket Books, a small independent press, in order to publish books for himself and community. His four poetry titles are Notes from a Neophyte (Not a Manifesto), The Optimist, Absurdity & Speed, and Temporary Author. The Optimist and Absurdity & Speed also include collages he created to give each book a narrative arc and context for the materials of the poem. In NYC in 2013, Brian co-founded DenimSkin, a literary and art review, which published 5 issues consisting of poetry, black-and-white art and photography, short stories and flash fiction, amongst other strange tales and vignettes. In 2018, Brian plans to publish a book of poetry titled Failure’s Finest Moment
