Eric ZORK Alan, a 11x National Slam Poet competitor, is probably best known for standing on chairs. He is also known for gratuitously dropping names... like that he is the only poet ever to have his book (appropriately called I am NOT a poet) blurbed by Davy Jones, Dobie Gray & Wild Cherry.Zork has Featured at the hottest poetry venues in America including Chicago’s legendary Green Mill where slam started. He has toured across America visiting High Schools and colleges in his mission to make more poets. He has produced and been featured in a series of "PG Safe Slam" DVDs from the National Poetry Slam to help get Slam poetry into the schools in an educational friendly and appropriate manner. He also performs at and hosts ZorkSlams [student based events] at Barnes & Noble Bookstores Nationwide. He hosts Westchester County, NY's largest poetry series and slammaster for the PSI Westchester Slam series @ The White Plains PublicLibrary.
Douglas G. Cala is a performance poet, film/TV/social critic, media enthusiast, content writer/editor, photographer and videographer from Staten Island. Douglas began his arts career performing at open mics as a teenager at the former Muddy Cup Coffeehouse in his native borough. He has performed at a myriad of noteworthy venues including the Bowery Poetry Club, Nuyorican Poets Cafe, Cornelia Street Cafe, Purchase College, Columbia University, Busboys and Poets (Washington, DC), Raven Lounge, Cafe Vivaldi, and the IMPerfect Gallery (Philadelphia), among others mostly in the East Coast. Douglas has produced performance showcases and has featured in variety shows curated by poets who have appeared on HBO’s “Russell Simmons Presents Def Poetry”. He continues to freelance in theater and film. By day, he is a full-time multimedia and IT specialist for the NYC Department of Education. His photography credits include pieces published in the Amsterdam News and Leviticus Tattoo: Performance Words – A Serial Monograph, a small publication affiliated with the Bowery Poetry Club. His poetry can be seen in IMPSPIRED, a UK-based online publication and print anthology.
Matthew Hupert is a writer and multi-media artist from New York City. He is the founder of the the NeuroNautic Institute and its associated poetry workshop, and of NeuroNautic Press. His first full length collection, Ism is a Retrovirus (2011), was published by Three Rooms Press. He is the author of several chapbooks, and his writing has appeared in numerous journals and anthologies including Midstream Magazine, the DaDa journal Maintenant, the anthology Sonnets: 150 Contemporary Sonnets, and Birds Fall Silent in the Mechanical Sea (great weather for MEDIA, 2019).. Matthew hosts several poetry reading series, including the annual showcase for New York voices Night in the Naked City, and the monthly series NeuroNautic Institute Presents, which features writers from around the world, and a vibrant open mic. When he’s not writing he can be found cooking for his family.
