As a closeted creative, for so long, Marleyna Greene has artfully transitioned from the right-brained first half of her life as a chemist, Master of Public Health, and K-12 educator into a first time published poet & artist. In November 2021, her debut poetry anthology White Cicadas & Black: Musings of A Rebirth was released and quickly snowballed into a burgeoning career teaching poetry workshops, Spoken Word performances across the Metro Atlanta area & curating a unique soul tribe & community of like-minded artists through a monthly Open Mic night at the local community hub Jazzy Juice Cafe. As a community advocate, Marleyna focuses on championing women's & children's issues by integrating this work into a foundation of community service, art initiatives, and educational forums in the hopes of encouraging others to use art as a tool for healing & more authentic living. Marleyna is pages deep into two future poetry anthologies and desires to continue infusing life, love, art & nature into every day. As a Stone Mountain, GA native, you can often find Marleyna & her littles wandering through the woods or creating something original wherever there is space.
