Angelo Verga, born 1945 in NYC, was uber-host and curator of spoken word & poetry readings at the Cornelia Street Cafe. He has had several small books published and his poems have appeared in scores of journals and anthologies, including the highly regarded new anthology of 20th century American verse, Birthday Poems (Thunder’s Mouth, edited by Jason Shinder). Winner of the Quentin R Howard Poetry Prize, he received the 1999 Graffiti Rag Prize and a BRIO Award from the Bronx Council on the Arts in 2000, has served on the Executive Board of the NYC Poetry Calendar, and taught poetry to adults in Manhattan and New Jersey, and to 7th and 8th graders in the Bronx. Verga was writer in residence at The Saltonstall Foundation of the Arts.
Luciann Twofeathers is a published poet, tarot reader, custom crystal healing jewelry maker born and raised in Astoria. She has been a voice for female empowerment through such written publications as Women of Eve's Garden: An Anthology of Poetry, which she curated, edited and contributed to, consisting of female and non-binary voices.
