“A Galère of Poetic Autopsies” is a monthly series at Hudson’s historic Park Theater on the first Thursday of each month. Expect the unexpected as poets, writers, and other creatives from the Hudson area and beyond reveal the inspiration and shadows behind their work.

Peter Carlaftes is a publisher, poet, playwright, author, and actor. The most recent of his seven published books is the poetry collection, Life in the Past Lane. He is co-director and acquisitions editor for Three Rooms Press, with a strong interest in memoirs, literary fiction, mystery and fantasy by diverse authors. He is co-editor of the annual Dada writing and art journal, MAINTENANT. He lives in New York City.

Kat Georges is a poet, playwright, editor, publisher, and graphic designer. She is co-director and an acquisitions editor for Three Rooms Press, an independent publisher inspired by diversity, dada, punk, and passion. Her most recent book is the poetry collection Awe and Other Words Like Wow, and she is co-editor of MAINTENANT. She lives in New York City.

Andrea Kleine is the author of the novels, CALF, a Publishers' Weekly Best Fiction Book of 2015; and EDEN, named one of "Summer's Smartest and Most Innovative Thrillers" by Vanity Fair and a finalist for a Publishing Triangle Award. Her work includes fiction, essays, performances, and, most recently, films. She is a five-time MacDowell fellow and a New York Foundation for the Arts fellow. Her feature film, THE END IS NOT WHAT I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE, created in isolation during the pandemic, is now streaming. She will be an artist-in-residence at the Baryshnikov Arts Center this fall, and she recently received a 2024 NYSCA grant for her novel-in-progress, HOW TO MAKE FRIENDS WITH BIRDS. website

Jerl Surratt’s poems have appeared or are forthcoming in The Amsterdam QuarterlyThe Hopkins Review, Kenyon Review, Literary Imagination, PN Review, and in other journals and anthologies in the US, UK, and Canada. A longtime writer in NYC for nonprofit organizations providing early childhood education, health care, LGBTQ+ civil rights protections and social services, he now lives and works in Hudson, NY. website
