Vanessa Chica is a NYC educator, writer, and performance poet. She has featured at various events such as, The Nuyorican Poets Cafe and The Bronx Museum. She was a panelist for “Mujeres On The Mic” (2016) and “Dique Dominicana” (2018) at The Association Of Writers held in Los Angeles and Tampa. Vanessa Chica co-wrote and performed in a 3 woman play titled Live Big Girl debuted (December 2017) at The National Black Theatre. She is the author of The Girl wIth the Smile poetry chapbook. Evie Ivy is a dancer/instructor/poet in the NYC poetry circuit and host of the long-running Green Pavilion Poetry Event in Brooklyn. She produces Dance of the Word, a program in praise of holidays and seasons. Her last 3 poetry books are Living in 12-Tone and other poetic forms, No, No Nonets: The Book of Nonets (Ra Rays Press), and The Platinum Moon (Dark Light Publishing). Jeanann Verlee is the author of three books: prey, finalist for the Benjamin Saltman Award (Black Lawrence, 2018); Said the Manic to the Muse (Write Bloody, 2015); and Racing Hummingbirds, silver medal winner in the Independent Publisher Awards (Write Bloody, 2010). She has received a National Endowment for the Arts Poetry Fellowship, the Third Coast Poetry Prize, and the Sandy Crimmins National Prize. Her poems and essays are featured in a number of journals, including Academy of American Poets, Adroit, BuzzFeed, VIDA, and Muzzle. She has served as poetry editor for Winter Tangerine Review and Union Station, among others, and as copy editor for multiple individual collections. A veteran of poetry slam, Verlee is a writing and performance coach who performs and facilitates workshops at schools, theatres, libraries, bookstores, and dive bars across North America.
